WHO WE ARE
The Jack O’Kelley Sertoma Club was chartered on June 14, 1986. The club is named in honor of one of Alamance County’s most prominent leaders and educators, the late Jack O’Kelley. Since 1986 (Click here to read Bio), the club has recruited more than 100 members. There are currently 20 members on the roll. The club was also instrumental in founding the Alamance Sertoma Club and the LaSertoma Club of Alamance County.

The Jack O’Kelley Sertoma Club has a history of being active locally as well as on the district, state, regional and national levels in Sertoma. Locally, members volunteer and serve as board members, members, contributors, or hold key positions within many local churches, and more than 32 community, state, national and international organizations. The club meets every 4th Wednesday night at 7:00 in the rear dining room of the Western Charcoal Steak House in Burlington. The board of directors meets each third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sertoma Building at North Park.

SERTOMA
Sertoma is thought by many to be one of the best kept secret on the planet. But that is rapidly changing. The name is an acronym of the phrase, Service to Mankind, which aptly describes the reason why we exist. Club members are and have been very active in a diverse range of local activities and organizations that impact the community as a whole. Our members have also held offices and responsibilities in many levels of Sertoma: three district governors, one State Director, a Foundation District Representative, and national delegates.

Building at North Park
One of the Jack O’Kelley Sertoma Club’s most significant community efforts was the construction – in cooperation with the City of Burlington – of the Jack O’Kelley Sertoma Club Building in 1999 at North Park in Burlington, N.C. The 3,000-square-foot building serves as a multipurpose facility for use by the community for meetings, reunions, conferences, and many other uses.
The Jack O’Kelley Sertoma Club holds its monthly board meeting in the building.
